I lose audio conversion from analog to digital …. but this could in my HDMI cable offbrand …. TV is beautiful, great image, the sound is not the best, but it works well.

I'm on my third 42-inch Philips Ambilight. Thank God for Best Buy service plan. Yes, it is true. 3 Phillips TV in three years. Everyone gets a vertical red line down themiddle of the picture. Never again. Want Ambilight. Turn on a lamp.
Avoid Phillips TV’s – bad product and customer service – G. Nelson –
Save yourself a headache and avoid this product and all the Philips plasma. If you take your chances and buy a Philips plasma, then you can also buy the extended service contract that is probably necessary.
I bought the 42in Philips plasma TV just over a year ago has started, and you see a thin vertical red line in the middle of the screen for about 11 months' was still called for the warranty and customer service.
The workshop raised a few days later. ThisIt was the beginning of December. And 'now in March and replaced the parts without fixing.
Here is the current workflow.
Before work orders to repair a Philips.
According to Philips to decide whether to leave, that part, because there the ship is under warranty.
Third Philips reviews and gives the order to end the permission to send the part. (This seems to be every 3 weeks)
The fourth part comes 70-10 days later.
Customer service has no way to track the status, because it is in a different system.
The laboratory has no way of tracking, because Philips has to give them a serial number and this did not happen until you give permission to send the piece.
However, if customer service is their only function call, tap, until aggravated and bored and get off the phone. You can callbacks promised, butnever happens. I even admit one of their superiors that they provide, but not good service.
I have a friend that is comparable with Samsung about the same time, and works well. I also anotehr friend with Sony and it works pretty good, but expensive.
I never had a break in the TV less than a year, but has a neighbor and bought one as good, and it took only 15 months was too expensive fix.Picture was not really bad.Only poor quality.
