Unbelievably happy – RonL – Pittsburgh, USA
I read reviews of projectors for two years before I bought the 8500th I was ready to buy a previous model and decided to wait. I sold audio / video of 5 years and have been planning my theater forever. The projector was a very important piece for me and I was very nervous. I can not find anywhere that carries more than 2 or 3 projectors in a demo, and although all screens are in different rooms of different sizes with different materials. IBasically projector purchased sight unseen, based on assessments of many websites. I clicked on its actually better than the score Say Say. Are projected onto a "blank canvas 110 Dalits. (Gain 1.0) to control a room full of light. The projector has tons of emission of light and clarity is amazing. We really really start to notice what shows are very well focused fillmed (the apprentice / Surviror) and demonstrates that filled a little 'softer (Burn Notice) are.
I also had the 'Ability to try custoemr Service. I had a small problem, and as in reviews, I called Epson says the problem they were sent to me by a couple of solutions, they agreed that something was wrong, and I a new air 2 days. Did I mention, I talked to a real person every time you call waiting less than 2 minutes.
Regaring trapazoid actions of the other reviews mentioned. I had the same problem I have mounted on a ceiling designed sytem you really need the projectorparallel to the ceiling, instead of the projector lens at the center of the screen. Use a level and do it at the floor and the ceiling and then use the lens adjustments in order to move the image. Removes almost the entire effect. final comment. Buy This project will not be disappointed.
For the money very good – David Boulet – Washington, DC USA
Epson now seems the firmware fixed a bug that the machines purchased, as I worried him at first, then the only real problem has been solved by the device (red color fringes that appear from time to time to the case in the photo). This machine is great, but be very quiet, which is partly a function of the size of the case. Build quality is on the fragile side (the lens horizontally and vertically offset, for example), but these questions are not for you, once established and in place during theconsidered normal.
Loaded with features, with excellent black level, the machine killer bang-for-the-Buck, Epson and replacing hot-swap policy can not be overstated. The main inherent weakness of the projector for me was "port" screen effect. Not to be people who see you can not say that this silly machines 1080p LCD … It's possible. The difference is that instead of a well-defined "grid of squares, the SDE is more like a mist or graininess looksimage highlights. It is not very scary, when you give plasma displays and others who have already signed a Korn / screen door used to, but if you silky SXRD LCOS or images are used, will not be able to tolerate here. I saw the Panny 4000, but the people who have been harassed by the SDE, Epson said the Panny solve their problem. Of course, the feature set of the two projectors is very different, and if your primary objective level black EpsonIt can be your best choice.
In this area of $ 2000 – $ 2500 1080p projectors, it's amazing how far we came. Do not sweat your decision to crack down because they probably buy a new LED and / or 3D projector in a few years ago for the same price, independent and confidential car you buy today for the games to children.
8500UB Very Nice – Nick –
This is my projector. I tend to be extremely picky about my picture and sound quality. I was nervous and a bit 'skeptacle going from my 62 "DLP TV with a projector. Floodlights I researched for several weeks. Every time I saw a review of a headlamp quote another to compare. Then I would have to research that. I ended up creating a spreadsheet listing prices, pros, cons and finer details more. I ended up settling for the 8500UB many sites Raveto learn.
I wish I could have given this review 4.5 stars. I do not call it a perfect 5, I would still call a 4th I'm very pleased with the projector and is positive, worth $ 2,500 Shop around and you will save a lot. I ordered the [...]
I have about 30 hours on it. I still play with the color calibration settings. [...] It has a decent starting point for calibration.
Since it is LCD, you have much greater flexability as they can be mounted. The problem withoffsets side distortion is particularly wide. Plan for installation in half with very little offset side. See Note 2. Side offset produces an image that the level Twist. About the width of the screen is a great off-level is easily visible.
The two things I would like very small down to the mark:
1st Small in size can be dark letters on a light background is easily washed. It 's still readable, just not crispy.
2nd I use the projector as my main TV.Not everything is broadcast in widescreen HD. I mounted with a standard deck 8 "ceiling with a" 110 16:9 screen gray. Fullscreen 4:3 pictures has a tiny trapeze. As the projector closer to the top of the screen light has to travel further to get to the bottom. And 'slightly wider and lower. Again, I'm demanding! A friend would not be considered likely to notice.
Screen Tip: Make sure that the screen has a structure of velvet, black velvet absorbed becauseLight. Since the effect is substantial trapezoid with a widescreen image to full screen if you place only a passing images appear and hair They do not notice any effects trapeze.
Herod: If you have plenty of ambient light in the house is definitely faded. Recommend darkening the sunlight.
Noise: The projector is very quiet. I mounted on my ceiling about two feet behind my couch. Every now and feel the difference but I Iriswe listen to it. quiet scenes in a movie are not a problem.
The color is fantastic. Nice deep blacks and shadows. HD signals and Blu-Ray is awesome. With a little 'planning, installation is a breeze.
